Welcome to Day #6 of your journey and the last day in the south island. You are going to start the day by traveling 63 km north up State Highway 1 from Dunedin to a place called ‘Shag Point.’ Shag Point is one of five places in the south island where the Maori arrived hundreds of years ago to settle in New Zealand. So i was watching a video about the first matariki ritual that was held down at Te papa in wellington. Their was a lot of interesting story from people in the crowed. they shared to everyone their culture, but is now learning how to speak te reo.
Explore around matariki - Their was a lot of cool, amazing and different things you could possibly imagine. Matariki is a time of the year family and friends will gather, celebrate, present and plan for the future.
