Z - Zig zag spiked up is sharp
A - As the sun starts to rise one by one
C - Cutting down the loud noise of

Recounts are awesome. Your experiences can be told in words to capture your readers and take them on a journey with you.
Task - Write a recount about the most exciting time you have had in school.
Every moment i had at school was exciting. But I really did enjoy the google goggles. It was one of the great times i had at school throughout the year 2015.
The reason why i really enjoyed it was because every direction my eyes turned i was looking at a volcano, or ( e.g ) flying in space or swimming with sea creatures.
Speech writing is a very valuable skill. When you have the ability to write speeches you can argue your way through your words. Lawyers do that all the time.
Task - Write a one-minute speech about one of these topics
- Glenbrae School should change its uniform
- Students should be allowed to bring any food they want to school
- Driving skills should be taught at primary school
- Glenbrae should have a cafeteria in the hall
For those who don’t know me my name is Whitney and I'm a year 8 students at glenbrae school. And I'm here today to say my opinion on our school uniform dress code. Some students sometimes have no shoes or bags. We could make our own logo on a bag or shoes. Moving on to glenbrae shirts. Besides polo shirts why not wear a collared shirt, without long sleeves, but short. And pants we could just wear shorts.
An earthquake that hit New zealand
Not too cold, not too hot, and certainly not too busy. It went from Wednesday to Thursday when an earthquake hit New Zealand. I stood up watching TV when suddenly my legs started to get really shaking. The house started moving, and that’s when I knew an earthquake hit new Zealand. I screamed out loud earthquake, as family members heard the echo of my voice.
Everybody was scared, shocked and tried to get their families to safety as possible. It was a serious emergency that knows one gets hurt. It took as long as possible till the earthquake stopped. My family and I were stuck in our home lucky with fear no one was hurt. Neighbors and other people tried their best to get people out of their homes safely as possible.
During the next day, was Thursday, tears falling down people's eyes, Homes were destroyed and sadly a few people were injured. This was an unexpected cause not just for me but for everybody else.
We soon had ambulances, fire engines, and the police arrived. After all Fire engines were helping.

My special Place
Lately, I've, well I and other glenbrae student have been communicating with each other what our special place is. We have been reading a learning about Toi Toi books, also.
This is my writing about my special place
I lived in many houses in Manurewa. I moved from house to house in the past few years, and now live in glen Innes. This place is special because I was half raised in Manurewa then moved up to GI ( Glen Innes ).
This place is special to me because we will sometimes drive up during the holidays or discuss family vacation. We will also have a lot of exciting things going on and sometimes drama. Birthday occasion even meeting and shared lunch will always happen.
In my special place, my favorite thing to do is having to play with my neighbors and the people around my street. Most of the people knew my mum. They were really fun and nice. By the time I moved I didn’t get to see or play with them anymore. But I still got the time to play with my sister and brother.
Another thing I like to do was to play shops, With home material. We had a lot of materials we could use. We either use Milk, Butter or cheese from the fridge. Or clothes, toys, and stationery, from our room. I and my siblings always take the time to think, Who will be the shopkeeper, and who will be the consumers. We describe our money as home made.
So give me Paris, Hawaii or Perth but in my heart of heart, it will always be Manurewa. `

Grace Joel performers
Some of the glenbrae students had the opportunity to perform at the st healers rest home, grace Joel. we left school around about 10:15 straight after tech. We all were super duper excited, with all the excitement in everyone's face. We had 4 items to perform and at the end, we had some question. Everybody was in their costumes and altogether looked stunning.
We first had the Maori group. The Maori boys did a haka at first, then moving on to some Maori songs. together they sang and did amazing actions to go with the song.
Next, we had the Tongan group, they were confident and happy and did an amazing job on having to make their actions smooth as possible.
Up next was the Samoa group. We did a sasa, which is basically a slap dance. We did an awesome job to do the action together int he right time and to also look forward and smile.
Last but not less we had the cook island group. They were amazing, and I gotta admit they can hula. Well done to them they had a few boys go up and danced.

Last day of tennis
Today was the very last day of tenni. It was really great having Campbell our tennis coach to during us the term. I really did enjoy having to take time on having to participate and have fun playing tennis this year. It was really grateful Campbell visit us and hopefully had fun with us as well. Lets just see if campbell during us later on this year.
Me and my class really enjoy going outdoors to play tennis with campbell. We learned a lot of new skills and watch glenbrae students vurst each other. We cheer, clap and laugh during the time.
For a while campbell had us using tennis balls that were squishy and soft. But came a day campbell allowed us to use actual tennis balls, that were hard and not soft.
